I have posted pictures of Bonnie Springs before; however, I do go feed the horses quite frequently. We found out recently that the owners sold the property to a developer and it will be closing at the end of February before being razed and replaced with 20 single-family homes.

This is horrible. Bonnie Springs has been an historic landmark and awesome family place for years and will soon be nothing more than another unnecessary housing development encroaching on beautiful land.

All of the hotel and other furnishings will be auctioned, as well as the horses. Visiting them has now become quite bittersweet because I know it will soon be coming to an end. While there are a few horses I would love to adopt, I don’t have anyplace to board them and can’t really afford the upkeep, medical, food, etc. Those that don’t get auctioned are supposedly being transferred to a ranch in Tucson, AZ.

Tis a shame.
