Macrocosm

Mother Nature can be a maniac,
Striking at will without rhyme or reason.
Wreaking havoc with no way to fight back,
At any time, regardless of season.

A tornado’s wrath can be quite scary,
Tropical storms morph into hurricanes.
Commanding and forceful adversary,
Reemerging lull showing what remains.

Few things compare to a potent earthquake,
Or a savagely shifting forest fire.
Tectonic plates provoke the Earth to shake,
While ferocious flames make all life perspire.

Wherever one lives, threat of disaster,
Nature proclaiming its role as master.

“Every girl should use what Mother Nature gave her before Father Time takes it away.” ~ Laurence J. Peter
